Modern Engagement Loyalty · Amsterdam

The stamp card your customers can't lose.

MEL turns loyalty into one tap of a branded NFC key fob. No app for your customers to download, no changes to your point of sale. And for the first time, real data on who comes back and when.

9+ MONTHS LIVE IN KALDI · 200+ DAILY USERS · GDPR BY DESIGN

Tap the fob. That's the whole customer experience.

The gap

Paper cards know nothing.
Loyalty apps know too much.

Old way № 1

The paper stamp card

Easy to lose, hard to track, impossible to analyse. Manual point tracking burns 10+ hours a week, ~30% of small retailers fail to retain customers, and churn can push marketing spend up ~25%. Zero data. Zero insight.

Old way № 2

The loyalty app

Dutch shoppers keep their guard up around loyalty apps, and rightly so. Forced downloads, harvested personal data, QR friction at the counter. Most customers simply say no.

MEL bridges the two.

The stamp-collecting ritual customers already love, upgraded to an encoded chip that lives exclusively on their own keyring. Your data stays useful; their data stays theirs.

How it works

Four taps. That's the product.

The MEL app lives only on your staff's phone, never on the customer's. Scan time is about five seconds.

TAP 01

Hand out a fob

A free branded key fob, card or sticker at checkout, with your logo doing street-level marketing every time keys come out of a pocket.

TAP 02

Join

A first scan on the staff phone activates the encoded tag and links it to the customer's profile. Consent is explicit and recorded.

TAP 03

Earn

Every visit, staff tap the customer's own tag to log the purchase and award points, by product category if you want.

TAP 04

Redeem

The app shows eligible rewards, say a free coffee after ten purchases, and staff confirm redemption with one tap.

AI inside

Every tap teaches it something.

Each scan is a timestamped record: which customer, which store, which product category. MEL's AI layer reads that stream and turns it into decisions you can act on the same day.

📊

Analyse

Surfaces what a busy owner misses: quiet hours, categories losing ground, regulars whose visit rhythm is slowing down.

💡

Suggest

Weekly promotion proposals in plain language, each with the expected effect. Run them or dismiss them.

🎁

Personalise

Offers built from individual purchase history: a bean buyer gets a bean deal, a slowing regular gets a reason to come back. You approve every one; nothing goes out on its own.

In development; ships with the franchisor dashboard.

THIS WEEK · SUGGESTED BY MEL

Tuesday 14–17 runs 40% under your weekly average. Offer coffee + pastry for that window.

EST. +9% TUE VISITS

31 customers haven't tapped in 3+ weeks. Send them a comeback reward.

EST. 8–12 RETURNS

Coffee-bean sales dipped 18% this month while drinks held steady. Try a beans discount for drink regulars.

EST. +6% BEAN SALES

Built on the consented profile data MEL already stores; nothing new is collected.

The dashboard

From stamp counter to CRM.

Every tap becomes a data point. Your dashboard shows which days, which hours, and which products rise or fall, so promotions are built on patterns, not guesses.

📈

Real-time reporting

Customers added, visits, points and redemptions, filter by time, staff member or location.

🎯

Pattern-based promotions

Spot the quiet Tuesday afternoon and design the promotion that fills it. Track results in the same screen.

Why the Netherlands

Built where tapping is second nature.

Contactless by default

By the end of 2024, 94% of card payments at Dutch counters were contactless, and 45% of those came from a phone or watch (Betaalvereniging Nederland). Tapping a fob feels natural here.

A beloved stamp-card culture

Customers love collecting stamps. MEL upgrades that exact ritual: faster, loss-proof, cross-location.

Digitally ready businesses

CBS reports that 82% of staff at Dutch firms work with an internet-connected computer, well above the EU average (Digitalisering en kenniseconomie 2024).

GDPR-savvy merchants

Consented profiles, easy export/delete and server-side tag verification match how Dutch merchants already think.

Founder

Built behind a real counter.

Peyman Zamani

Founder & CEO

Peyman opened his own Kaldi franchise café in Amsterdam in October 2024, and was handed a paper stamp card as his loyalty programme. Two months later he had built the first version of MEL; since February 2025 it has run daily in live stores. A business leader experienced in running and scaling startups, skilled in sales, partnerships and fundraising, he builds MEL as sole founder with a feedback loop that runs straight from the espresso machine to the product.
